Outagamie County Airport is Awarded “Best Marketing Award” For Two Consecutive Years by Allegiant Travel Company Print

Appleton, WIS - Outagamie County Airport (ATW) was awarded the "Best Marketing Award" by Allegiant Travel Company at this years’ 2012 conference held in Las Vegas. This award was given for the "Toes in the Sand" campaign that the airport ran last summer. The airport was also recognized last year at the same conferencefor the use of social media in their "Orlando Orange" campaign. This recognition is given every year to one of Allegiant’s airports.

"I applaud the hard work and creativity of Airport Marketing Director, Kim Sippola, and congratulate her on this well-deserved recognition."

When our airports work to minimize expenses and increase demand, we're able to offer lower fares to their community and stimulate more passengers through their airport and onto our aircraft."

The airport was recognized for its outstanding use of social media and community engagement throughout its "Toes in the Sand" promotion. In this promotion fans wrote a 100 word essay describing why they deserve to have their toes in the sand. The top five stories were then awarded a chance to dig in the sand at the Time Warner Stadium for golf balls that were buried in the family zone. A total of 20 balls were buried and each ball represented a roundtrip ticket aboard Allegiant Travel Company to Orlando.
